Lemon Drop Skin Care & Massage Celebrates Its Third Anniversary

Lemon Drop Skin Care & Massage, a boutique-style spa in downtown Kent, will celebrate its third anniversary in March 2010. Owner Macey Boughter said she and her staff will celebrate the company’s anniversary by offering specials throughout the month including 15% off any services booked online for Mondays and Wednesdays during March and discounts on the Lemon Drop Facial and 90-minute massages.

After working at other area spas, Boughter first opened her business at Heartbeat Healing Arts on First Avenue South in Kent. Within a year, Boughter and her clientele had outgrown the space. Wanting to stay in downtown Kent, Boughter moved her business and its new name – Lemon Drop Skin Care & Massage – to the Titusville Station building at the corner of First and Gowe.

Named best day spa by readers of the Kent Reporter in 2008 and 2009, Lemon Drop is a boutique-style spa with two treatment rooms and six massage therapists and aestheticians who offer a variety of skin care and massage services. Boughter, who is dual licensed as a massage therapist and aesthetician, has also developed some signature treatments not available at other spas.

“Some of our treatments, like the Lemon Drop signature treatment, combine our massage and skin care services,” Boughter said. “This keeps our spa unique, and it is great for clients who want a little bit of both treatments. We really try to address what our clients want.”

Open seven days a week by appointment only, Boughter and her staff pride themselves on keeping their services affordable while providing high quality, personalized care. Lemon Drop also differentiates itself from its competitors by being one of the first area spas to go green. Appointments are booked online or by phone, and all receipts, orders and confirmations are sent via email to alleviate the need for paper. In addition, the spa uses only natural or organic skin care products.

“At Lemon Drop, we’re small and all-natural because we want to be,” Boughter said. “Our clients like the customized, quality care they get here.”

Open seven days a week, Lemon Drop Skin Care & Massage is a full-service day spa featuring skin care, massage and waxing services. The studio-style spa is located in heart of the Kent historic district in Titusville Station at First and Gowe.
